Categories are principally a means of product classification for communication purposes. Products are assessed on their own merits, not by category, however Awards may be presented in category order for ease of communication at the Awards Presentation Night, exhibitions or in publications. Therefore the number of accolades resulting in each category depends entirely on the quality of entries in that category.

Includes domestic appliances, whitegoods, housewares, consumer electronics, personal accessories, baby goods, toys and personal care

Business and Technology
Includes professional products, office equipment, financial registers, communications terminals, commercial instruments and technology products

Medical and Scientific
Includes medical and laboratory equipment, therapeutic goods, home health care and personal monitoring devices

Automotive and Transport
Includes motor powered vehicles, automotive components and accessories, public and other modes of transport

Sport and Leisure
Includes professional and recreational sporting equipment, sporting apparel, camping gear and leisurewear

Housing and Building
Includes construction equipment, building materials, plumbing, industrial fittings and fixtures

Heavy Machinery
Includes agricultural, mining, earthmoving and production equipment

Architectural and Interior Products
Includes furniture, lighting, public spaces, textiles and object design

Student
