Brandon Gien

Executive Board Member and Treasurer, Icsid
Brandon is Executive Director of the Australian International Design Awards, Australia’s longest standing national design awards program. Among other roles, Brandon represents Australia as an Executive Board Member and Treasurer of the International Council of Societies of Industrial Design [Icsid]. Brandon also holds the position of General Manager, Corporate Services at Standards Australia, recognised by the Government as Australia’s peak Standards body.
With a background in management and Industrial Design, Brandon has been responsible for transforming the Australian International Design Awards program over the past decade into Australia’s peak design assessment and promotion body. Brandon plays a key role in collaborating with design and creative experts from around the world and has affiliations with leading universities and design organisations across Australia and the globe.
Brandon studied Mechanical Engineering at the University of Newcastle where he later graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design. He is currently undertaking a Doctoral Thesis in Environmental Design at the University of Canberra. Brandon is also an active member of the Industrial Designer’s Society of America [IDSA].

Stephanie Pemberton
Program Director, Australian International Design Awards

Stephanie is Program Director of the Australian International Design Awards, and has been integral to the current direction of the Awards since 2002.
Working closely with Australia’s innovation and creative industries, industry associations and government bodies, Stephanie has fostered long term relationships and developed new initiatives and methodologies for the Awards. In 2008, Stephanie helped transform the Awards from a national to an international program, and introduced a new benchmark for excellence in sustainable design in partnership with state government body Sustainability Victoria.
Prior to joining Standards Australia, Stephanie was Regional Packaging Designer at Johnson & Johnson Consumer Products Asia Pacific, followed by Senior Industrial Designer at Nielsen Design Associates. During her six years as a practising designer, Stephanie played a key role in the development of a number of award-winning products including the iconic Telstra Touchfone and the Betachek G5, winner of the 2003 Australian Design Award of the Year.
Stephanie holds a Bachelor of Industrial Design with First Class Honours from the University of New South Wales and mentors students at this and other educational institutions across Australia.

Tiffany McHugh
Event Manager, Australian International Design Awards

Tiffany started with the Australian International Design Awards as Program Coordinator, but has brought her previous experience to the program to become the in-house Event Manager. Tiffany's career has spanned a number of design disciplines, most notably interior design, event styling and design, and production design and art direction. She has been involved with event and performance production and event management for more than 7 years.
Tiffany holds qualifications in Graphic Design, Interior Design, and Event and Entertainment Design. Specialising in Production Design for screen and theatre, and Event Styling/Design, Tiffany has worked on music festivals, product launches, fashion and catwalk shows, live performance, TVCs, music videos and short films.
Tiffany teaches Event Management at a tertiary level, and returns periodically to schools as a public speaker.
